Beginning with a Next Door Neighbor block and alternating with the Diamond Girl blocks, lay out and sew the quilt in five rows with five blocks in each. Pieced Border 2. Sew the white triangles to the sides of the square from step 1. Square up the block so it measures 61⁄ 8", if necessary. 1. Refer to “Quick-Corner Triangles,” page 106, and position one 41⁄ 2" royal blue square on a 41⁄ 2" x 81⁄ 2" white rectangle.

As in step 3, position a 2 7⁄ 8" bright pink square on a 2 7⁄ 8" blue square and stitch. Cut and press. Make twelve to create twenty-four half-square triangle units. 6. Assemble two bright pink squares, one blue rectangle, and two of the units from step 5 as shown. Make eight. 8. Sew two of the border units from step 7 to the sides of the quilt. 9. Add a blue square to each end of the two remaining border units and sew to the top and bottom of the quilt. 7. Sew three units from step 4 alternately with two units from step 6 as shown in the quilt layout below.

Sew one strip to the sides of the quilt and press. 4. Sew a 41⁄ 2" white square to each end of the two remaining triangle border strips. Press. Sew these strips to the top and bottom and press. Finishing 1. Referring to “Adding the Borders,” page 106, add the 11⁄ 2"-wide teal border and the 41⁄ 2"-wide royal blue border to the quilt. 2. Referring to “Finishing the Quilt,” page 108, layer and quilt as desired. Add binding to the quilt.
