Mark has 39-years experience as a executive level business consultant and tenured professor at Arizona State University in business, agriculture, engineering, and sustainability. In June 2015, Ecoponex signed an MOU with Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) to develop both pilot and full scale REEF facilities on land owned by the college. The projects will demonstrate the full suite of food, algae and energy production, and water, CO2 and waste recycling technologies that are integrated in the overall closed-loop process. The effort will be done in cooperation with both the City and County of Santa Fe, who have written formal letters to Ecoponex and SFCC in support of the project.

In August 2105, Ecoponex formed a new company, Astaco Technologies Inc., which is joint venture between Algae Food and Fuel (AF&F) and Tendris Solutions of the Netherlands together with Berq Capital of Toronto Canada and Rick Story and Associates of New Mexico.
